Barri Leiner Grant

Barri Leiner Grant is the founder of The Memory Circle (www.thememorycircle.com) for grief support--a place and space she created in 2019, for those learning to live with loss. She left a longtime career as a journalist and motherloss peer guide, to pursue full-time work and training as a Certified Grief Coach. “I created intimate motherless daughter events when I received my yoga and mediation certification (200hr ytt), and knew I needed to make the circle bigger.”

Barri is a well-respected grief specialist with certifications from Claire Bidwell Smith, Hope Edelman, David Kessler and Dora Carpenter. She combines her writing background and yoga/meditation training to craft meaningful healing modalities for clients and groups. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, Psychology Today, Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper and Rue Magazine, on award winning podcasts, television appearances and radio shows. Her mother Ellen died suddenly in 1993, and she honors her in this work.
