The Hudson Valley Buddhist Meditation Center was formed in early 2009 from the inspiration to share the Tibetan Buddhist teachings and meditation practices with neighbors in Westchester. New and seasoned meditators of all traditions and welcome.
The group meets Wednesday evenings at the Bedford Post Inn from 7 to 9pm. The format includes meditation practice and instruction for new students, a talk on Buddhism and discussion, and tea and cookies reception.
The leaders, Jane and Derek Kolleeny & Natalie and John Baker, also teach at the Shambhala Meditation Center of New York and in various venues around the U.S.
The Center also offers more in-depth classes on Sunday evenings from 6 to 8pm and a once-a-month Sunday morning sitting practice, as well as special events that include receiving visiting Tibetan teachers.
